The Armen Alchian Chair in Economic Theory

The Armen Alchian Chair in Economic Theory is named in honor of Armen A. Alchian, a leader in building the "UCLA tradition" in economic analysis. It is funded with contribution from the UCLA Department of Economics, the Sarah Scaife Foundation and the Bradley Foundation. David K. Levine is the first holder of the chair, which was established in July 1997.
